During the months of September and October, two MHREC team members are undergoing a Mental Health First Aid training course.
Earlier in summer, the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector, in collaboration with Richmond Foundation had disseminated an opportunity offering Mental Health First Aid for VO members
The course provides some useful information on how to assist a person developing a mental health problem as well as persons who has a history of a mental illness or longer-term mental health problems.
The course consists of 12 contact learning hours which are delivered through 4 sessions of 3 hours each. This course is not intended as a therapy or support group; rather an education course like similar to a standard First Aid Course. Once the training course is complete, the two MHREC team members will be disseminating the information and practical know how with other team members.
