MHREC Learns: Emergency First Aid

On Saturday 16th March, MHREC’s team had the opportunity to participate in Emergency First Aid course organised by St. John Malta. The training course is recommended for individuals who might need to provide first aid to someone who is injured or becomes ill at home/work, and covers common injuries and illnesses.

The course was ideal for our participants as it is organised for those who may not have the availabilities for the full First Aid course however are interested in learning the foundation skills. During our time at the St. Johns Malta Headquarters in Valletta, we learnt about the role of the first aider; communication and casualty care; basic defibrillator demonstration as well as how to respond to various incidents including but not limited to bleeding, choking and shock.

At an organisational as well as personal level, we highly recommend the training. More information may be found here.

We would like to thank the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector for this opportunity and to thank St John Malta for providing such an excellent training.
